In the early days of January at the CES 2013 in Las Vegas, Rockchip introduced a new processor for tablets. RK3188 is a quad-core CPU, engraved at 28 nm, and based on the ARM Cortex A9 cores with GPU Mali-400 Quad. Despite the launch took place over months ago, only in the last few days have been made available the first tablet equipped with this chip, including Pipo Max M9 we mentioned recently, Cube U30GT2 and a model Prestigio MultiPad.
This device is the direct successor to the Cube U30GT, compared to which has a faster processor, but inherits the design with aluminum cover. Cube U30GT2 is provided with the operating system Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (do not know if it will be upgraded to Android 4.2) and mounts a display of 10.1-inch IPS with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels (224 PPI), very close to the specifications of a Retina Display MacBook Pro 15. Considering the energy consumption of the processor and the screen, the battery is high capacity, from 8000 mAh , however, to ensure sufficient autonomy.
The equipment is completed by a camera of 5 megapixel camera , Bluetooth, miniUSB port, microSD card slot, the output miniHDMI and 32 GB of memory. The price of the tablet should be around 225 Euros . Here you can find the product page with all the technical information. Missing two other tablets with the same CPU RK3188 and display 8 and 9.7 inches.
