The first generation of ultrabook definitely offered several advantages compared to the normal mainstream notebook, being thinner and lighter design and with much care, both with respect to the tablet, thanks to bigger screens, physical keyboard, complete operating system, and of course hardware configuration much more powerful and therefore more flexible and usable in different scenarios of use. Even though these notebooks are not without limitations and possible uses of a right that was denied in early ultrabook (with Intel Sandy Bridge and HD 3000 integrated graphics subsystem) was in the field of gaming.
The new ultrabook equipped with Intel Ivy Bridge now offer a much more powerful graphics subsystem, Intel GMA 4000 HD, but even this is insufficient to run the latest videogame titles, even with medium details and resolutions not too pushed. Gigabyte U2442 is finally a 14-inch HD + 1600 x 900 pixels, also with Intel Ivy Bridge and Nvidia GeForce GT 640M or 650M GT.
In fact, the GeForce GT 620M is partial exception, in that while the GT 650M and 640M GT models are both based on the new core Kepler, the first still uses the previous core Fermi, although made with the new process to 28 nm. In any case, as can be seen also in the movie, the synergy between the Ivy Bridge Intel processors and Nvidia graphics generation is sufficient to allow a game to play smoothly as the latest Max Payne 3.
