Lenovo ThinkPad P70 and ThinkPad P50 are the two new Skylake based laptops packing 17.3 inch and 15.6 inch displays respectively. The price of the former is 1,999 dollars while the latter costs 1,599 dollars.
Lenovo ThinkPad P70 specifications
This is the top of the line mobile workstation professional model. It is powered by Skylake platform which is backed by up to 64GB RAM, 4x storage bays where each bay can accommodate 1TB PCI Express SSD or 2TB HDD, Nvidia Quadro graphics, DVD writer and Windows 10 Professional operating system.
Keyboard is backlit and packs 6 row key arrangements as you can see in the photo above. Since it is a ThinkPad, you also get a TrackPoint. The display packs full HD or 4k resolution but optional touch screen is only available with full HD. Ports and communication selection includes IEEE 802.11a / b / g / n / ac (vPro also available), Bluetooth 4.1, Express Card / 34 slot, SD card slot, smart card reader, Thunderbolt 3 × 2, USB 3.0 × 4, HDMI 1.4 output, Mini Display Port 1.2, and voice input / output.
Battery is 8 cells and body size is 416 × 275.5 × 29.9 ~ 31.5mm (width × depth × height) and weighs 3.4kg.
Lenovo ThinkPad P50 specifications
The specifications of ThinkPad P50 are identical to those of P70 but packs 15.6 inch display. Battery is 4 / 6 cells and has smaller dimensions due to its smaller screen size. It measures 377.4 × 252.3 × 24.5 ~ 25.9mm and weighs 2.5 kilos.
