Toshiba Encore Review

Toshiba Encore is on presale in Italy for a few days , but U.S. users have the possibility to buy it, unpack it and test it in preview. It ‘just the U.S. that comes the first video unboxing and impressions "hot" on this new 8-inch tablet with Windows 8.1. Although the American model has some technical differences with the European (and specifically Italian), it is still interesting to find out what is hidden in the package and put it in comparison with Lenovo Miix 2 and 8 Dell Venue Pro , its main competitors.

Toshiba Encore Review

Toshiba WT8 Encore is equipped with a processor Intel Z3740 Tail Bay (quad-core), 2GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of internal memory that can be expanded naturally. The display 8-inch IPS offers a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels , a good brightness and a wide viewing angle. On the front you will find a 2-megapixel camera (which makes good pictures even in low light) and a Windows button. The cover, however, is polycarbonate, but has a particular silver finish dotted, which does not retain dirt and fingerprints, facilitating the taking of the tablet even with one hand. The simplicity of the frame is interrupted by a camera of 8 megapixels and logos Toshiba and Intel.

The box, which portrays the tablet, some accessories (cases and stylus) and the main feature, contains a USB-microUSB cable, wall outlet, and a quick start guide illustrative.

Toshiba Encore WT8 weighs 445 grams (a little ‘more than 2 Miix 350 grams and the Dell Venue Pro 8 to 388 grams), but it should have a range longer. In addition to the micro-HDMI, micro-USB port and two stereo speakers, the Japanese company’s tablet integrates a GPS module. The operating system is Windows 8.1.
